Young African-American men continue to be in crisis! To “move the needle” on this issue, Delta Sigma Theta created Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence (EMBODI). Through open dialogue and actionable recommendations, EMBODI will advance positive change.

EMBODI is tailored for African American young men ages 11-18. EMBODI was created out of an urgent sense that, “bold action is needed to save our young males from the perils of academic failure, low self-esteem, and crippled futures.” Our program focuses on workshops to assist the young men reach their fullest potential educationally, socially, and emotionally. With that in mind, we’ve designed a program built around the following themes: self-esteem, physical health/wellness, technology, leadership, community service, non-traditional careers and much more!

Understanding that organized collective action can achieve greater positive impact, Delta Sigma Theta is proud to join numerous other service-oriented associations and individual advocates who are actively engaged in uplifting African-American males.
